Concordia Voices is a well-established
chamber choir of about 30 mixed voices. We enjoy singing
a wide range of music, both sacred and secular, spanning
five centuries and have performed concerts with other
groups such as, Richmond Shakespeare Society, local
schools and Surrey Brass. Our year is structured into
three terms, each with a concert, usually with seven
rehearsals in the weeks before. In addition there
are occasional other activities (charity concerts,
supporting local events, special celebrations) and
we also tour from time to time, in the UK and abroad.

What is special
about Concordia Voices?
The members of our choir are committed to working
together to stretch our musical expertise and experience.
It is an opportunity to sing works from outside the
standard choral society repertoire, often a cappella,
and to make a make a rewarding contribution to a small
group of singers. We are a small, friendly choir and
new singers are warmly welcome.
How to join us
If you are interested in joining, please come along
and sing with us at one or two of our Sunday rehearsals.
Knowledge of music and a reasonable level of sight-reading
are necessary, but we don’t expect perfection!
The procedure is that our conductor will ask you
to do a brief voice test once you have found your
feet, to ensure that your voice ‘fits’
our small group. Please bring a short piece that you
know and enjoy singing, to your voice test. Following
this you will have the opportunity to join the choir
for two rehearsals before deciding whether you wish
to commit to membership.
We normally rehearse for 7 Sundays before a concert
and programmes are technically challenging, so members
are expected to practise between rehearsals.
Rehearsals take place on Sunday evenings from 6.45
-9pm in St James’s Church, St James’s
Road, Hampton Hill TW12 1DQ (see picture below).
There is ample parking in St James’s Road and
there are local transport links nearby in Hampton
Hill High Street and Uxbridge Road. See the Find
us page in the St James's Church website.
Through our subscriptions we fund a professional Musical
Director and accompanist. This level of support offers
an opportunity to move individuals and the choir forward
to reach new levels of performance. The subscription
for 2017-2018 is £180 and singers who join during
the year will be asked to pay pro rata for the remaining
Membership is FREE for under 25’s, full-time
students and recipients of long-term incapacity benefit.
If you have any further questions, or would like
to arrange a date to join the choir in rehearsal,
please contact our Secretary.
